Using the Learner Dashboard – Learner Guide

The dashboard is your own home page, the first thing you see when you sign in to Manabu2. It's designed to show you at a glance what to do today, so start by getting comfortable with this screen. There's nothing complicated about it.

Opening the dashboard

When you sign in to Manabu2, your learner dashboard opens automatically. To come back to it from another screen, click Dashboard (the grid icon) in the left sidebar.

The URL looks like /en-US/{organization ID}/user. Bookmark it and you can jump back from anywhere.

What's on the screen

From top to bottom, the dashboard has four blocks. Read them in order and what you need to do today falls naturally into place.

Welcome message (top of the screen)

You'll see a greeting, "Welcome, [your name]", along with your department ("Department: …"). Your department is set by HR, so if the wrong one is shown, let HR know.

Courses in progress (left card)

Courses you've started but not yet finished, each with a progress bar (up to 3, furthest along first).

  • Click a course name to go to that course's details page.
  • The progress bar changes color with your progress: yellow below 40%, blue from 40% up to 70%, and green at 70% or more.
  • Under the bar you'll see "X / Y lessons completed", so you can tell at a glance how many lessons there are in total and how many you've finished.

If you haven't started anything yet (or you've finished all your courses), it says "You haven't started learning yet." That's normal. Start from Available learning further down.

What's next (right card)

Shows the next lesson to work on in your courses in progress, up to 3 (one per course in progress). Each row shows the lesson name, with the course it belongs to underneath.

  • The whole row is a link. Click it to open that lesson directly.
  • If you have no courses in progress (including when you've finished all of them), it says "Start a course and your next lesson will appear here."
Available learning (bottom of the screen)

The courses in the learning paths assigned to you, shown as cards. It includes courses in progress, not started and completed, with up to 10 shown, least progress first. Each card has:

  • The course title
  • A status badge in the top right: Not started / In progress / Completed
  • A progress bar and "X / Y lessons"
  • A button in the bottom right: Start (if you haven't begun) or Continue (if you're partway through). Clicking it opens the course's details page, where you can go on to the first or next lesson.

Common tasks

  1. Open the dashboard.
  2. In the What's next card on the right, click the lesson you want to continue.
This is the fastest way back in. You can also get there by clicking the course name in Courses in progress, but that takes one extra click because it goes through the course details page.

  1. Scroll down to Available learning at the bottom of the dashboard.
  2. Find the card for a course that interests you (one marked Not started).
  3. Click Start in the bottom right of the card, then start the first lesson from the course details page that opens.

Courses that aren't assigned to you can also be started on your own from Courses in the left sidebar, as long as your organization has made them public. If something catches your eye, go ahead and take a look.

The dashboard only shows courses from your assigned paths (up to 10). To see every course available to you, click Courses (the notebook icon) in the left sidebar.

To see a learning route that spans several courses (a path), open My Learning Path (the signpost icon) in the left sidebar. For details, see Working through My Learning Path.

The dashboard doesn't list tests. Open Tests & Quizzes (the question-mark icon) in the left sidebar to see them split into three groups: tests to take, tests in progress, and completed tests. For details, see Using tests and quizzes.

Click Certificates (the award icon) in the left sidebar to see all the certificates you've earned. A certificate is issued automatically when you pass the required tests of the path (or paths) it covers. You don't need to apply for it.

Left sidebar menu

From any screen, you can use the left sidebar to go where you need to. If you get lost, come back here.

When something goes wrong

If the screen doesn't look the way you expect, check the table below. Most of the time it's down to how things are set up or assigned, not a mistake on your part.

Problem Likely cause and what to do
Nothing appears under Courses in progress You haven't started a course yet. Click Start on a course in Available learning at the bottom of the screen.
Available learning has no courses at all You may not have any learning paths assigned to you. Contact HR.
Clicking a lesson in What's next doesn't open it Reload the page (Windows: Ctrl+R / Mac: Cmd+R) and try again.
The progress bar doesn't move Completed lessons usually show up right away, but occasionally there's a delay. Reloading the page usually fixes it.
You see different courses from your colleagues Courses are assigned by department or to individuals, so what you see can differ. If something looks wrong, check with HR.
