Joining a Public Path – Learner Guide

Public paths in Manabu2 are learning paths that anyone in your organization can join on their own. You don't have to wait to be assigned: pick a path from the catalog that matches your interests or your work, and start learning. This page walks you through finding, searching for and joining a public path.

Opening Public Paths

Click Public Paths in the left sidebar. The URL is /en-US/{organization ID}/user/path/explore.

The page is headed Public Paths (公開パス), with a short line underneath explaining that these are free learning paths anyone can join, and inviting you to pick one that interests you and get started. If you see that, you're on the right screen.

What's on the screen

Search bar

The search box at the top of the page. Next to the magnifying-glass icon, its placeholder reads "Search by path name, description or label…" (パス名・説明・ラベルで検索…).

  • As you type, the cards are filtered on the spot (the page doesn't reload).
  • While a search is active, a (Clear) (クリア) button appears at the right end; click it to reset the search.
  • Below the search box, a count appears: "N / M paths matched" (N / M 件のパスが一致しました).
Path cards

Public paths are shown as cards in three columns (one to three, depending on screen width). Each card shows:

  • Status badge (top left): paths you've already joined show In progress (学習中); paths you haven't joined show Not started (未開始).
  • Course count (top right): a book icon and "X courses" (X コース) tell you how many courses the path contains.
  • Labels: tags attached to the path (for example "AI basics", "Sales" or "Data analysis"). Click one to filter by that label automatically.
  • Path name: in larger bold text.
  • Description: up to three lines; anything longer is cut off.
  • Action buttons (bottom): these change depending on whether you've joined (see below).
When there's nothing to show

If no public paths are available at all, you'll see a globe icon and a message saying there are currently no public learning paths (現在、公開されている学習パスはありません。). If a search finds nothing, you'll see a magnifying-glass icon and a message saying no matching paths were found (一致するパスが見つかりません), with a suggestion to try a different keyword or label (別のキーワードやラベルで検索してみてください。).

Common tasks

  1. Type a keyword you're interested in into the search box at the top of the page.
  2. As soon as you type, only the cards whose path name, description or labels match stay on screen.
  3. The count below the search box (for example "5 / 23 paths matched") tells you how many paths were found.
  4. To reset the search, click the × button (クリア) at the right end of the search box, or clear the box.
The search matches part of a word and ignores upper and lower case (it does treat full-width and half-width characters as different). Just type whatever words come to mind.

  1. Click one of the small label badges on a card (for example AI basics).
  2. The label is typed into the search box for you, and only paths whose name, description or labels contain that text are shown.
  3. To clear the filter, click the × button in the search box.

  1. On a card you haven't joined, there's a small (eye icon) button to the right of the black Start (開始する) button.
  2. Click the eye icon to open the path's details page. This does not join you to the path.
  3. On the details page you can see which courses the path contains and in what order, how many lessons each course has, and whether there are required tests.
If you only want to look without joining, be sure to click the eye icon. Clicking the large Start button joins you to the path straight away.

  1. Find the card of the path you want to join and check that its status is Not started (未開始).
  2. Click the black Start (開始する) button at the bottom of the card.
  3. Once you're enrolled, you're taken straight to the path's details page. If the path belongs to your own organization, it's also added under My Learning Path in the left sidebar.
  4. From then on, the card's badge changes to In progress (学習中) and its button changes to View details (詳細を見る).

  1. On a card whose status is In progress (学習中), click the View details (詳細を見る) button.
  2. The path's details page opens, where you can get to its courses and path tests.

You can also reach the same details page for paths you've joined from My Learning Path in the left sidebar.

Public Paths vs. My Learning Path

The names are similar and easy to mix up, but the two pages do clearly different jobs.

Public Paths

Paths that anyone can choose to join on their own (including paths published by other organizations). This page, Public Paths, is the catalog.

My Learning Path

The list of paths assigned to you or that you've joined, all gathered under My Learning Path in the left sidebar.

Troubleshooting

Problem Likely cause and what to do
Public Paths shows nothing No paths have been made public yet. Talk to your HR or training contact.
I can't find the path I want to join Type a keyword into the search bar, or click a label on a card to filter. If it still doesn't show up, the path may not be public (it may only be available by assignment).
I clicked Start (開始する) by mistake You can stop at any time. A path you joined yourself never becomes required. However, if the path has a default deadline, you'll get a deadline counted from the day you joined, and the path is included in the learning-progress figures your HR team sees. If you really want to be removed from it, talk to your HR or training contact.
I clicked the eye icon, but there's no prompt to start The eye icon is the "look without joining" button. The details page has no Start (開始する) button, so if you want to read up first and then join, go back to the Public Paths list and click Start on the path's card.
Search doesn't work JavaScript may be turned off in your browser. If it's restricted by company policy, check with your IT department.
