Learner Guide – Learning with Manabu2

Manabu2 is where you build the skills you need for your job, steadily and a little at a time. It's easy to use. This page is the starting point for the learner guides, so feel free to jump straight to whatever you want to know.

What is a learner?

A learner is the role for people who take learning content in Manabu2. Following your organization's learning plan, you work through the courses and paths assigned to you, and build the skills you need in the age of AI through exercises, quizzes and tests.

What matters most for a learner is keeping at it and putting it to use. The screens themselves are simple, so alongside how to use them, this guide also shares some ideas on how to learn in a way that sticks.

How-to guides (by screen)

Step-by-step instructions for each screen are in the guides below. Read them in any order, starting with whatever interests you.

The main screens you'll use

Manabu2 has a handful of screens for learners, and each one has a clear job. Getting the big picture first makes it much harder to get lost.

Dashboard (home page)

The screen you see right after signing in. It gives you an overview of where your learning stands.

  • The lessons to work on today (where you left off in your assigned paths)
  • Your courses in progress and how far along each one is (up to 3, furthest along first)
  • The courses in your assigned paths, with their status (up to 10)

Start here every day and you'll always know what to do next.

Courses

Shows the courses assigned to you, plus any courses your organization has made public. Even if a course isn't assigned to you, you can start it on your own if it's public and it interests you.

My Learning Path

A list of the learning paths assigned to you. A path is a sequence of courses, a "learning route": work through it in order and you'll build your knowledge systematically.

  • Check your progress and due dates
  • Open the courses in a path, and see the path's tests
Public Paths

Learning paths published for everyone, beyond your own organization. If you want industry-standard knowledge or have extra topics you'd like to study, you can take them from here.

Tests & Quizzes

Brings together the tests in your learning paths (quizzes are taken inside each lesson). They're shown in three groups:

  • Tests to take (受験が必要なテスト): tests you haven't attempted yet
  • Tests in progress (進行中のテスト): tests you've started but not yet submitted
  • Completed tests (完了済みのテスト): tests you've submitted, shown with your result (pass or fail)

How learning works (the usual flow)

If you're new, try following these steps in order. You don't need to prepare anything.

STEP 1
Check today's learning on the dashboard

The usual place to start is What's next on the dashboard.

STEP 2
Take a lesson

A lesson is a short unit focused on a single topic. Most take about 10–20 minutes, so you can fit them into spare moments.

STEP 3
Check your understanding with a quiz

Some lessons end with a quiz. It's fine to get answers wrong.

STEP 4
Move on to the next lesson, or review

For anything you got wrong in the quiz, going back to the lesson to review is the most effective next step.

STEP 5
Mark milestones with tests

Paths can include tests. For a path that leads to a certificate, passing its required tests is what earns you the certificate.

Tips for keeping it up

Worried you won't be able to keep going? The habits of people who really learn are nothing special.

A little every day

15 minutes each weekday sticks better than two hours crammed into the weekend. That's why lessons are kept short.

Quizzes are for finding your mistakes

Rather than aiming for full marks, use them to pinpoint the parts you're not yet sure about.

Picture how you'll use it at work

Asking yourself "how could I use this in my own job?" as you read makes it far easier to remember.

Make certificates your milestones

Certificates, issued when you pass a path's required tests, make the milestones in your learning visible.

When something goes wrong

When things don't work as expected, it's usually a settings or assignment issue, not something you did. Use the table below to figure out who to ask.

Problem Likely cause and what to do
No path has been assigned to you Check with your organization's HR team or whoever leads learning in your organization.
You're stuck on a lesson, or it's too difficult Give feedback to your curriculum manager or HR. Content that doesn't match learners' level gets reviewed.
You failed a test You can retake a test you failed. Go back over the related lessons, then try again.
Your progress doesn't seem to be saved Reloading the page usually fixes it. If it doesn't, contact support.
