As a consultant, you look across several client organizations at once, follow how their learning and AI adoption are progressing, and propose improvements. You manage your clients, run projects, spot problems in the insights, and turn them into actions. The consultant screens in Manabu2 bring all of that work together in one place, and this page is your way in.
- Understand what each of the five screens is for
- Explain how the AI adoption index, skill maturity, and the at-risk flag are calculated
- Know which ROI inputs are your responsibility
- Start from what you want to do and find the right guide
What a consultant does
A consultant is the role that follows learning and AI adoption across several client organizations and supports them using the bottlenecks and suggested actions that the skill diagnosis surfaces.
The consultant role is granted by a Manabu2 system administrator. Your clients are the organizations you created from the consultant screens. Organizations created by other consultants don't appear in your list, and you can't open them.
HR and curriculum managers run things from inside the organization. You, by contrast, work as an outside expert: you bring what you've learned at other clients and drive improvement from an objective point of view.
You're also responsible for the numbers behind return on investment (ROI). When you enter a client's subscription fee, average hourly rate, and each project's consulting fee, estimated hours, and expected value, the ROI card that executives look at has what it needs.
Guides by screen
Consultants work with five screens. Here's what each one covers and which guide goes with it. There's no need to read them in order; start with whatever you're stuck on.
Get an overview of your whole portfolio and decide where to start this week.
- Portfolio KPIs: number of clients, active projects, average skill maturity, and clients needing attention
- Top clients: at-risk clients first; each row shows maturity, the number of active projects, and the phase of the furthest-along active project (up to 5 clients)
Manage the client organizations themselves. This is also where you enter the baseline figures for the ROI calculation.
- Create new organizations (pending approval → approved)
- AI adoption index, skill maturity, and active project count on each organization card
- Edit an organization: the AI company profile (overview, vision, mission, values) and the monthly subscription fee and average hourly rate used for ROI
- Invite and remove organization members
Track the phase and progress of each engagement and enter the figures ROI is built on.
- Project list (phase, progress, label)
- Create, edit, and move projects to the next phase
- ROI fields: consulting fee, estimated hours per member, and expected value. These feed straight into the executives' ROI card.
Dig into problems across clients and decide what to propose. In the sidebar it's called Skill diagnosis (スキル診断).
- Average AI adoption index / average skill maturity / active projects
- Learning signal radar (five axes: active rate / AI course completion rate / path progress / average test score / certification rate)
- Bottleneck analysis (picked automatically: the two lowest signals plus improvement advice)
- AI scores by client (lowest maturity first, at-risk badge, suggested action)
Turn proposals into concrete to-dos and follow them from start to finish. In the sidebar it's called Improvement proposals (改善提案).
- Types: improvement / meeting / next step / risk / deliverable
- Priority: high / medium / low; status: not started / in progress / done
- Due dates, deleting, and marking actions done
How the key numbers are calculated
The figures on the dashboard and in the insights are calculated as follows. Knowing what's behind them makes them much easier to explain to clients.
AI adoption index (AiAdoptionIndex)
AI adoption index = active rate (30 days) × 0.5 + AI course completion rate × 0.5
- Active rate: the share of members who signed in or did any learning activity in the last 30 days
- AI course completion rate: the share of members who have completed at least one course with
IsAi=true
Skill maturity (MaturityScore)
Skill maturity = (path progress + average test score + certification rate) / 3
At-risk flag (IsAtRisk)
A client is marked as needing attention if any of the following is true:
- Skill maturity is below 40
- No one has been active in the last 14 days
- The organization has no active members
The rates are calculated over all of the organization's active members, including people whose invitations are still pending and you yourself, since you're added as an administrator automatically when you create the organization. If you've used Manabu2 in the last 14 days, the "no one has been active" condition doesn't apply.
A weekly routine for consultants
You don't need to check everything every day. Use this rhythm as a guide and you'll keep on top of your clients without strain.
Monday: check the dashboard for clients needing attention
Plan this week's actions for the clients with an at-risk badge.
Check the lowest signals in the insights
Decide what to propose based on which signals are lagging.
Add actions for each client
Set a priority and a due date.
Update action statuses after your weekly meetings
Move actions from in progress to done.
Update project progress
Update the progress or ROI estimates if anything has changed.
Your part in entering ROI data
For the executives' ROI dashboard to work properly, consultants enter the following.
- Monthly subscription fee (counted as 12 months in the ROI)
- Average hourly rate (the fallback used when an employee has no hourly rate of their own)
- Consulting fee: the total you bill for this project
- Estimated hours per member: labor cost is calculated automatically as
hours × the sum of the project members' hourly rates(members without their own rate use the organization's average hourly rate) - Expected value: the estimated monetary value this project will produce
Working with other roles
Your proposals only pay off when they mesh with what each role on the client side is doing.
HR enters each employee's hourly rate. You bring an outside view and share what has worked at other clients.
The ROI dashboard is only as accurate as what you enter. Accurate numbers put you in a position to advise where to invest next.
When a client's learning metrics stall, work with the curriculum managers and propose a review of the course content.
Where to go when…
| What you want to do | Where to look |
|---|---|
| You don't know which client to start with | On the dashboard, clients with an at-risk badge are listed first. |
| You can't pin down a particular client's problem | In the insights, find the client's row in the AI scores by client table and check its suggested action. |
| You want to know why the AI adoption index is low | Use the radar in the insights to see which of the five signals is low. |
| Executives say the ROI isn't showing | On the project edit screen, check that the expected value has been entered. |
| Actions have piled up | On the actions screen, clean up the ones that are done, and either delete or reschedule overdue ones. |
