Executive Guide – Seeing the Return on Your People-Development Investment

Executives look at whether the money put into developing people and adopting AI is paying off, and decide what to do next. Manabu2's executive screens are built so that the numbers you need for a decision are visible within five seconds. This page is the table of contents that gets you to them.

What the executive role is

The executive role gives you a bird's-eye view of people development and AI adoption across the whole organization, so you can make decisions and investment calls. Running things day to day is the job of HR and curriculum managers; as an executive, you check in numbers whether this investment is really paying off and decide the next move.

Every executive screen is designed so that the numbers you need for a decision are visible within five seconds. These are not detailed operations screens.

Only users whose organization membership has the Executive permission can open the executive screens. All five screens are also available only to organizations on the Pro plan; on the Free plan, trying to open them takes you to the billing page instead.

How-to guides by screen

There are five executive screens. Here is what each one covers and which how-to guide goes with it. You don't need to read them in order — start with whatever you want to know right now.

Executive Dashboard (経営ダッシュボード) (/executive)

Your monthly starting point: the state of the whole organization and the return on investment at a glance.

  • Four KPI cards: company-wide AI adoption index, skill maturity, learning progress, and active AI projects
  • Return on investment (ROI) card: net benefit, ROI ratio, and the breakdown of investment and expected value
  • Monthly lesson completions trend (6 months)
  • AI maturity by department (progress bars)
  • The bottom four signals (areas to strengthen), picked out automatically
  • Status of AI adoption projects (on track (順調) / in progress (進行中) / delayed (遅延) / PoC / preparing (準備中))
Skill Gap Analysis (スキルギャップ分析) (/executive/skills)

Pinpoints where to invest next, starting from the lowest-scoring signals.

  • Monthly lesson completions trend (learning momentum)
  • Bar chart of skill maturity by department
  • Gaps across the five signals (lowest first) — find the area that most needs improving
  • Automatically generated action suggestions for the bottom two signals
Department Dashboard (部署別ダッシュボード) (/executive/departments)

Shows the differences between departments that an average hides.

  • The department furthest ahead on AI adoption, the one with the biggest skill shortfall, the one with the highest learning completion, and the one with the most members needing attention
  • Bar charts of AI adoption index and skill maturity by department
  • Progress bars for learning completion by department (with a needs-attention flag)
AI Project Management (AIプロジェクト管理) (/executive/projects)

Helps you spot delayed projects early.

  • Filters by department / phase / status
  • Sorting that puts delayed projects at the top
  • Each project's phase, progress, status, and goal
Reports (レポート出力) (/executive/reports)

For sharing the picture with stakeholders, such as the board or the management meeting.

  • Three periods: monthly (1 month), quarterly (3 months), annual (12 months)
  • Three formats: CSV, Excel, PDF
  • Every report includes the KPIs, the department breakdown, the monthly trend, AI projects, and return on investment (ROI)

How ROI is calculated

The ROI card on the dashboard is calculated automatically from the breakdown below. Knowing where each number comes from makes it much easier to track down the cause when something looks off.

Cost

What you spent

  • Subscription (12 months): monthly fee × 12
  • Total consulting fees: the sum of each project's consulting fee
  • Total labor cost: for each project, estimated hours per member × the sum of the hourly rates of the members assigned, added up across projects
Value

What it produced

  • Total expected value: the sum of each project's expected value amount
Result

The numbers on the card

  • Net benefit (純利益) = value − cost
  • ROI ratio (ROI 倍率) = value ÷ cost

The executive decision cycle

You don't need to look every day. Checking once a month in the order below gives you a solid picture without much effort.

STEP 1

Open the Executive Dashboard

Check the KPIs and ROI. If something has moved since last month, go to the detail screens.

STEP 2

Identify the skill gaps

Treat the lowest of the five signals as your next investment target.

STEP 3

See the reality by department

Look beyond the average at how departments differ.

STEP 4

Check how AI projects are progressing

Step in early on delayed projects.

STEP 5

Export a report and share it

Send it as a PDF or Excel file to the board, the management meeting, or investors.

Working with other roles

The numbers you see as an executive are built on what other roles enter. When a number doesn't add up, remember who feeds it.

Consultant

Enters the organization settings and each project's ROI inputs. How accurate your ROI is depends on how accurate those inputs are.

HR

Records each employee's hourly rate, which determines how accurate the labor cost is.

Curriculum manager

Designs the learning content. What you see as a "bottom signal" (for example, a low AI learning completion rate) becomes feedback for improving the curriculum.

Where to go when…

What you want to do Where to look
The ROI card says there are no ROI inputs yet (ROI 計算用の入力がまだありません。) The ROI inputs are missing. Ask your consultant to fill them in.
The AI adoption index has stalled Check the breakdown in the Skill Gap Analysis.
Lots of projects are delayed Review them in AI Project Management and agree on improvement actions with your consultant.
You need material for board members Generate the annual PDF from Reports.
